IEL TASK FORCE MEETING NOTES 02/15/05
Present: Roxanne Beloit, Ellen Brown, Don Brunner, Joe Dunlap, Marcus Jorgenson, Pat Lamb, Linda McDermott, Scott Morgan (chair), Joanne Murcar, Linda Powell (recorder), Pam Praeger, Jacque Rainer, Dixie Simmons, Colleen Straight and Linda Uhden. Guest: Carol Green for Karen Driscoll.
The meeting came to order at 2:35 p.m. in the Falls Conference Room at SFCC.
1. Review of February 1, 2005 Meeting Notes: The IEL Task Force Group reviewed the February 1, 2005 meeting notes. A correction was made to the attendance roster.
2. Review of the draft IEL Report Outline: Findings and Recommendations:
At the February 1 task force meeting, several members volunteered to forward issues, ideas findings and recommendations for different subject areas to Scott for the draft report outline. Scott gathered and forwarded these issues and findings to task force members via e-mail.
The task force group reviewed a draft IEL report outline prepared by Scott Morgan. The outline was created to provide the group with a tool to help get conversations started on findings and potential recommendations for the final report. A question was asked as to who the report will be directed to and will the report need to be written clear enough for a general audience. Scott replied that the final report will be directed to the chancellor and should be written in a clear and understandable format. Users of the report will be district-wide.
The task force made revisions to the outline through business and industry training. Revisions and additions made will be reflected in the next draft which will be distributed after today’s meeting. Discussion surrounding the draft IEL Report Outline included:
Joanne Murcar was asked to further clarify findings and recommendations related to business and industry.
Scott Morgan asked members to continue their review of the outline and forward recommendations to Linda Powell.
Next meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 1, in the Falls Conference Room, SFCC, 2:30-4:30 p.m.
