"College in the High School" Task Force

As Chancellor/Chief Executive Officer of Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS), I hereby charge this task force as follows:

Study and propose, if appropriate, a College in the High School (CHS) program that complies at a minimum with the SBCTC guidelines for CHS.

The following elements must be addressed:

  • Definition of CHS at Community Colleges of Spokane.
  • Guidelines and procedures for the CCS CHS program.
  • District-wide collaboration and coordination of CHS.
  • Fee structure for CHS.

The task force will present its recommendation to the Vice Presidents’ Council (VPC) for review and action by March 15, 2004. The VPC’s final recommendation will be forwarded to Cabinet.

The task force shall be led by the School and College Relations Officer and will have the following composition: 1) an instructional administrator from SCC and SFCC [2]; an administrative representative from the IEL [1]; a student services representative from SCC, SFCC and IEL [3]; 4) an academic liberal arts instructor from SCC and SFCC [2]; and 5) the District Director of Grants and Contracts [1].

Each task force member is directed to participate fully, to faithfully represent the interests of CCS and, more specifically, the constituency that he/she represents. Task force members also will adhere to the principle of confidentiality when required.
