FACULTY AND STAFF PARKING PERMIT PROCEDURES

Overview: A valid staff parking permit is required for staff parking day or night on the SCC and SFCC campuses. Parking must be in designated spaces

Procedure:

  1. Annual Staff Permits:
    1. Annual staff permits are issued from the college cashier’s office upon payment of $40.00 and are valid from September 1 through August 31 of each year. The vehicle license plate number must be provided for each vehicle to be parked on the campus.
    2. The college cashiers sell annual staff permits from September 1 through December 15.
    3. Twelve-month employees must purchase an annual permit unless they are participating in the commute trip reduction (CTR) program. CTR participants may purchase quarterly permits.
    4. Annually contracted academic employees, adjunct faculty, instructional year staff and part-time hourly employees have the option of purchasing either an annual or quarterly permit.
    5. Payroll deduction is available for annual permits only.
    6. Annual parking permit fees are non-refundable except in accordance with paragraph 11.3.

  2. Quarterly Staff Permits:
    1. Faculty and instructional year staff and all part-time employees may purchase quarterly staff permits for fall, winter, and spring quarters for $12.00 per quarter and $4.00 for the summer quarter.
    2. Payroll deduction is not available for quarterly permits.
    3. Quarterly parking fees are non-refundable.

  3. The staff parking permit is to be displayed on the inside front mirror.

  4. Parking must be in designated spaces.

  5. Guest permits are available at no charge for staff, students, or visitors who certify that they will park a vehicle on campus ten times or fewer during a quarter (seven times or fewer during summer quarter).

  6. Staff who purchase annual or quarterly parking permits are entitled to a special motorcycle permit at no extra charge.

  7. Lost or stolen permits (including motorcycle permits) are the responsibility of the staff member. A replacement permit must be purchased for $12.00 ($4.00 summer quarter).

  8. Parking permits are not refundable except in accordance with paragraph 11.3.

  9. Violators are subject to fines and other measures as described in WAC 132Q-20-260.

  11. Commute Trip Reduction Participants:
    1. Bus Riders, Car Pools or Van Pools – Employees who purchase monthly bus passes or ride in car pools or van pools are eligible to purchase quarterly parking permits at a 75 percent reduction from the $12.00 quarterly parking permit fee. Individuals electing this option must purchase their parking permit on a quarterly basis rather than annually. Individuals must agree to ride the bus or car pool a minimum of three (3) days per week.
    2. Biking/Walking – Employees who pledge to bike/walk a minimum of three (3) days per week, five (5) months per year are eligible to purchase quarterly parking permits at a 75 percent reduction from the $12.00 quarterly parking permit fee.
    3. Change in Commute Status for Annual Permit Holders – Staff or faculty who purchased annual parking permits and change commute status during the period of the permit are entitled to refunds issued at the college cashier’s office according to the following schedule:
