New Online Payroll Services Coming up in April and May
spacer gif
New online fiscal management tools mean increased efficiency, greater security and reduced operating expenses at CCS. Over the next two months, the CCS Payroll Office will introduce two new online services designed to improve employee access to payroll information, as well as the safety and convenience of depositing paychecks.

Direct deposit electronic notification

Beginning May 1, 2004, employees using the community colleges' direct deposit service for paychecks will get online earnings statements and leave balances instead of paper notices. Employees who receive paychecks by mail also can use this service.

A number of campus trainings will be offered in April to familiarize staff with the new system.

Here's how it works: Using any computer with Internet access -- at home or at work - employees can log on to http://www.ccs.spokane.edu/busoff/EmpComp.htm, go to the Payroll Office section and click on to "Employee Earnings and Leave History."

Here, you'll find information about your current paycheck, deductions and reductions, employer contributions, and leave balances. A year-to-date earnings history also is available. A districtwide e-mail reminder will be sent out each pay period regarding online earnings statements.

To access your earnings information online, you'll need a System Identification (SID) number and Personal Identification Number (PIN), which were first issued to CCS employees in 2002. New employees automatically receive SID and PIN numbers at the time of hire.

Can't find your numbers? Don't remember them? No worries. The CCS Payroll Office will include these important numbers in your April paycheck/paper payroll advice. When you receive them, put them in a safe place that is accessible when you use your computer.

Employees who need a Network ID or CCS e-mail address should check with their supervisor.

Direct deposit payroll option

Effective April 1, 2004, the option of payroll direct deposit will be available to all CCS employees. Part-time hourly, adjunct faculty and work-study employees are encouraged to take advantage of this safe, efficient system of depositing paychecks.

To enroll, complete a Direct Deposit Authorization Form (available by calling 434-5291or at http://www.ccs.spokane.edu/busoff/EmpComp.htm) and return it to the CCS Payroll Office, MS 1006.

For more information, contact the Payroll Office's Dianne Walker, 434-5285, or Jean Simon, 434-5291.
